INPE: 'Gringasho' has not requested penitentiary benefits for work or study

The National Penitentiary Institute (INPE) reported that the inmate Alexander Manuel Pérez Gutiérrez, aka ‘Gringasho’has not submitted any formal request to access penitentiary benefits, such as redemption of sentence for labor or study.

Through an official statement, the institution explained that Pérez Gutiérrez is being held in the Puno prison establishment for the crime of illegal arms possession and clarified that his legal defense has not submitted any documentation to initiate the corresponding procedure.

“The inmate Alexander Manuel Pérez Gutiérrez is held in the Puno Penitentiary Establishment for the crime of illegal possession of arms and, to date, his legal defense has not submitted to INPE any document related to the organization of the file for the penitentiary benefit of redemption of labor for labor and/or study”Inpe said.

The institution added that, if an application is submitted, this will be evaluated by the Penitentiary Technical Council of the establishment and must comply with the requirements established in the Regulations for the Execution of the Criminal Code.

Finally, he reiterated his commitment to the application of the criminal regulations in force in the granting of prison benefits.

Background

Alexander Manuel Pérez Gutiérrez, aka ‘Gringasho’began his criminal history in adolescence, which led him to be held in the Lima Diagnostic and Rehabilitation Youth Center, known as Maranguitafrom where he escaped on the eve of the New Year of 2012.

In 2018, he was sentenced to ten years in prison for illegal possession of arms. In addition, it has been linked to the criminal organization ‘La Gran Familia’ and related to crimes such as Sicariato and Assaults.
