In addition to the Federal District, the states of Rondônia, Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul, Goiás, Minas Gerais, Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, Paraná, Santa Catarina, and the north of Rio Grande do Sul will be affected by the strong heat.

Low humidity

Inmet also issued an orange alert for low humidity. The alert includes the Central-West regions, part of the Northeast states (with the exception of Alagoas and Sergipe), the municipalities furthest from the coast, as well as Minas Gerais, São Paulo and Paraná.

In these locations, relative humidity should vary between 20% and 12%. There is a risk of forest fires and the health of the population, with dry skin and discomfort in the eyes, mouth and nose. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), the ideal limit for relative humidity is around 60%.

Inmet advises the population to drink more fluids and avoid both physical activities and sun exposure during the hottest hours of the day. It is also important that people increase the use of skin moisturizer and humidify their environments.
