A recluse killed a cellmate in the Correction and Rehabilitation Center (CCR) of San Pedro de MacorisThe Public Ministry reported this Monday.
For him homicide in the penitentiary center, the prosecuting body opened a criminal process against the deprived of liberty Luis Eduardo Rodríguez (BC One) for the death of Yonatan Santos Báez Veloz.
The Public Ministry, represented by the prosecutor Ana María Fríasaccuses Rodríguez of violating the articles 295 and 304 of the Dominican Penal Code, which punish voluntary manslaughter.
A press release from the Attorney General’s Office adds that the charges filed against Rodríguez (BC One) join those of heist, homicide and other crimes for which fulfills sentence in the CCR of San Pedro de Macoris. It does not detail how Rodríguez took the victim’s life.
The agents guarding the center found the victim without signs vitals when checking the cell, in the isolation ward, during the morning count.
The victim, Báez Velozwas found secluded in the detention center accused of committing several serious crimes.
