Inmate deputy director of Guanare prison

Danny Alexis Mercado Mata, deputy director of the “26 de Marzo” Agroproductive Penitentiary Center, was arrested for his alleged responsibility in the escape of 13 prisoners

Security organizations arrested Danny Alexis Mercado Mata, deputy director of the “26 de Marzo” Agroproductive Penitentiary Center, located in Guanare (Portuguesa), for his alleged responsibility in the escape of 13 prisoners.

For this fact, the head of the regime of that prison, José Luis Manzanilla Peña, and the custodian Leonardo Alexander Caicedo Márquez, were also captured, according to reports. Apparently they charged a sum in dollars to allow the escape. The detainees were handed over to the 14th Prosecutor’s Office.

Of the 13 escapees they recaptured nineone was killed and another drowned in the Boconoíto River while fleeing.
