INM rescues 37 Central American immigrants in Tlaxcala

The National Migration Institute (INM) reported that federal agents belonging to the institution itself “rescued” 37 foreigners of Central American origin in the state of Tlaxcala, who could not prove their regular stay in the country.

Through a statement, the INM indicated that the events took place in front of a hotel located on the Apizaco Tlaxcala highway, in the municipality of Apetatitlán de Antonio Carvajal, where five minors were helped, as well as 17 women and 15 adult men.

Upon confirming their nationality, it was found that 30 migrants come from Nicaragua, three from El Salvador, three from the Dominican Republic and one from Honduras,” indicated the migration institute.

He added that the adults were taken to the INM facilities in Tlaxcala to continue with their administrative migration process, while four adult women and five minors traveling as a family nucleus will remain under the guardianship of the System for the Integral Development of the Family. (DIF) state for its custody and protection.

“During the immigration verification action, in accordance with the guidelines of the legal norm and with full respect for human rights, the INM staff was coordinated with elements of the Secretary of National Defense (Sedena), the National Guard (GN) and the police. municipalities of Apetatitlán de Antonio Carvajal, Contla and Amaxac de Guerrero”, said the institution belonging to the Ministry of the Interior.

The INM assured that it endorses its commitment to safe, orderly and regular migration in order to prevent foreigners who transit irregularly from putting their lives and physical integrity at risk.
