Santo Domingo.- Residents of Almirante, Santo Domingo Este municipality, reported a fire in the municipal market of that town on Friday afternoon, leaving several people injured after one of them suffered an electric shock.
According to Francisco Rafael López, who is the market manager, he said that two employees of a private company were affected by the discharge while they were working in the roof area where the incident occurred in the market in the El Almirante sector.
A reliable source said that the two people were injured when a metal rod came into contact with high-tension cables while they were carrying out maintenance work in a cold room.

An audiovisual circulating on digital networks shows two people being assisted after receiving an electric shock, subsequently taken to the Ney Arias Lora hospital in Santo Domingo Norte.
The victims were Darwin Miguel Bonilla Hernandez, 31, and Jose Luis Cepeda Rodriguez, 47.
It was reported that those affected are stable.
