Reconstruction of 40 kilometers of route No. 15 will favor productive development in the eastern area of Uruguay
The works carried out on route No. 15, in the department of Rocha, were inaugurated. The project covers the paving of about 40 kilometers between the junctions of routes No. 13 and No. 14. The President of the Republic expressed his satisfaction with the road work carried out because it results in progress, but, he noted, as long as there is a Uruguayan with a problem, the ruler should not be satisfied.
The minister and the undersecretary of Transportation and Public Works, José Luis Falero and Juan José Olaizola, respectively, also participated in the event held at the intersection of routes No. 14 and No. 15, in Lascano. In addition, the national director of Roads, Hernán Ciganda, and the mayors of Rocha, Nicolás García, and Treinta y Tres, Mario Silvera, attended.
Lacalle Pou stated that the works on route No. 15 do not respond only to a material commitment, but to an affective and emotional involvement. He explained that arriving at a place, complying and doing a “little more” changes people’s reality and that, in this case, “walking is progress.”
Likewise, he stressed that, if there is a problem for a Uruguayan, it must also be a problem for the Government, since the volume does not matter, but the problem itself. The president acknowledged being satisfied with the direction, but not satisfied, because, if there is one person left with a difficulty, the ruler cannot be, he considered.
The president also alluded to a gift received from students at the Lascano high school, which included a phrase to which he said he adhered: “When effort becomes a habit, success becomes a constant.”
Falero, meanwhile, said that the “way of building and connecting Uruguay is not capricious, it is necessary,” in reference to the infrastructure work carried out on the road network throughout the country, which allowed the incorporation of 710 kilometers of routes. new.
The work on route No. 15, between the towns of Lascano and Velázquez, includes quality infrastructure and does not have a negative impact on the environment, he said. The works included the construction of sewers, the widening of stormwater, the surfacing of roughing and asphalt. They are part of the Circuit 5 Road Corridor project, which includes routes No. 14 and No. 15 along 184 kilometers that cross the departments of Florida, Lavalleja and Rocha.
