The general director of the National Institute of Professional Technical Training (Infotep), Rafael Santos Badía, reported yesterday that this year they will begin to train 20,000 technicians with the skills required by the fourth industrial revolution in the System Operational Centers (COS).
Leading the return to face-to-face classes in the aforementioned campuses, the official said that the new specialists will respond to the specific needs of the country’s economic sectors, which require qualified personnel to meet the demands imposed by industry 4.0.
“We are classifying the Operational Centers by areas of knowledge and skills to train technicians in robotics, software development, artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, English, logistics, mechatronics, and other training,” Santos Badía said.
He stated that they also offer traditional careers such as nursing, pharmacy and laboratory.
About the centers
The governing body of professional technical training explained that the System Operational Centers are a group of entities accredited to provide technical training.
He pointed out that these are located throughout the national territory for greater convenience and access for the participants.
He also stressed that the population has access to training activities free of charge.
