INFOTEP produces thousands of bread rations in its workshops for those affected by Fiona

Teachers and participants of the National Institute of Vocational Technical Training (INFOTEP) are producing in the Bakery and Confectionery workshops 15 thousand units of bread to be distributed among vulnerable families affected by Hurricane Fiona.

Mass consumption products are being produced 10,000 in the workshops of the Metropolitan Region; in the National District; three thousand in the Eastern Region, in La Romana and two thousand in the Hotel, Gastronomy and Pastry School, in Higüey and are being distributed through the provincial governments of the affected areas.

“Faced with the calamity that we have just experienced in the country due to the scourge of Hurricane Fiona, we have activated, together with our teachers and participants, the production of thousands of bread rations, to deliver them to families who are affected and with limitations. , caused by the atmospheric phenomenon”, affirmed Rafael Santos Badía, General Director of INFOTEP.

From the INFOTEP facilities in the east of the country, assistance is being given to the victims of La Altagracia, La Romana, Hato Mayor and El Seybo.

Delivery of food rations

Likewise, through the Bávaro Satellite Office, INFOTEP is preparing food rations in the mobile kitchen workshop located in Friusa, for the population of the area that is currently in a vulnerable condition. These foods are being delivered in coordination with the neighborhood associations.

Similarly, it is expected to expand coverage, in a joint action with the Association of Hotels and Tourism Projects of the East (ASOLESTE), to bring food rations to sectors of Miches, Verón and Bávaro.

Logistical support

Also in the East, a human and transport team has been made available to the relief authorities to support the mobilization and distribution of food in the areas affected by the passage of Hurricane Fiona.

Also in the North

The Cibao Sur Regional Directorate of INFOTEP will also be mobilizing its Gastronomy workshop to vulnerable areas of Samaná, for the preparation of food, in coordination with the Government, adding to the strategies that the Central government is developing to recover the areas most impacted by the passage of Fiona, through the North Region of the country.
