The General Price Index – Internal Availability (IGP-DI), calculated by the Getulio Vargas Foundation (FGV), had an inflation of 0.69% in May this year. The rate is higher than that recorded in the previous month (0.41%), but lower than that observed in May 2021 (3.40%).
As a result, the index accumulates a rate of 10.56% in 12 months, less than a third of that calculated in May 2021 (36.53%).
The Broad Producer Price Index (IPA), which analyzes the wholesale, rose from 0.19% in April to 0.55% in May, while the National Construction Cost Index (INCC) went from 0.95% to 2.28%.
On the other hand, the Consumer Price Index (CPI), which measures retail, had a drop in the inflation rate, changing from 1.08% in April to 0.50% in May.
