The General Price Index – 10 (IGP-10), measured by the Getulio Vargas Foundation (FGV), registered inflation of 1.18% in March this year. The rate is lower than those observed in February this year (1.98%) and March 2021 (2.99%). As a result, the IGP-10 accumulates rates of 5.02% in the year and 14.63% in 12 months.
The fall in the IGP-10 from February to March was driven by the Broad Producer Price Index (IPA) and the National Construction Cost Index (INCC).
The IPA, which measures wholesale, dropped from 2.51% in February to 1.44% in March. INCC inflation fell from 0.61% in February to 0.34% in March.
On the other hand, the Consumer Price Index (CPI), which measures retail, had a high inflation rate, changing from 0.39% to 0.47% in the period.
