Inflation in Argentina climbed to 102.5% and is the highest in 32 years

The National Institute of Statistics and Censuses (INDEC) of Argentina reported on Tuesday that the inflation during February it was 6.6%.

With this, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) was 102.5% in the accumulated of the last 12 months.

Thus, year-on-year inflation reached three digits and is the highest in 32 years, since the hyperinflation of 1990, which exceeded 2,000%.

The division with the highest increase in the month was Food and non-alcoholic beverages (9.8%), mainly due to the increase in Meat and derivatives and Milk, dairy products and eggs, according to INDEC.

Despite the implementation of programs of controlled increases in various sectors, lPrices maintain an upward path for four consecutive months from the 4.9% registered in November, the lowest figure of the assumption of Sergio Massa in the Ministry of Economy.
