Infantino attended the two intercontinental play-off qualifiers in Doha, which ended last night with Costa Rica’s victory over New Zealand (1-0) at the Al Rayyan Stadium and on Monday with Australia’s victory over Peru in the penalty shootout (0- 0, 5-4), in the same scenario.

“Congratulations to everyone and of course we welcome the fans from the 32 countries, and also the fans from all over the world who will come to Doha in November and December of this year, in a few months, to celebrate the football and to live together the greatest show on the planet and the best World Cup in history,” Infantino said, FIFA reported.

The 2022 World Cup in Qatar will open on November 21 with four games: Senegal-Netherlands, England-Iran, Qatar-Ecuador and United States-Wales. The final will be played at the Lusail Stadium on December 18.
