Infante: Amnesty Law will allow peace and reconciliation to be consolidated

The state of Sucre joined the public consultation on the draft Amnesty and Democratic Coexistence Law. Legal instrument that will have the essential objective of promoting reconciliation and political stability in the country.

The meeting held at the Paria hall facilities, at the Venetur Hotel in the city of Cumaná; It was led by the First Vice President of the National Assembly (AN), Pedro Infante; the Second Vice President of the National Parliament, Grecia Colmenares; the governor of the region, Jhoanna Carrillo; mayors, legislators and representatives of nearly ten political parties.

During his speech, the first vice president of the AN, Pedro Infante, highlighted the importance of this bill that will allow for the consolidation of peace and national reconciliation.

He stated that this meeting, which has been taking place throughout the Venezuelan territory, is essential to debate proposals and elements that will add to this legal instrument with those who maintain different political and ideological positions.

“The important thing about this law consultation is to listen to the opinions of those who are not active in the same organizations as us and those who have a different vision,” said the first vice president of the AN.

Likewise, he emphasized the importance of all sectors of the country assuming their role in the pacification process. “All political sectors must assume responsibility, just as the Government is doing. This Amnesty Law does not want to impose impunity.”

For her part, Governor Jhoanna Carrillo highlighted that Sucre welcomes the creation of permanent bridges of dialogue that transcend regional borders to focus on national development. At the same time, he stressed that the Law is a recognition that, above the differences, the will of a people who wants to avoid future scenarios of violence prevails.

“The state of Sucre should be the epicenter of how Venezuela should be loved and today, with this meeting we can distinguish that Venezuelans can move our country forward, we are the ones who love the national tricolor,” said the regional president.
