The National Institute of Educational Studies and Research Anísio Teixeira (Inep) published today (6), in the Official Diary of the Union, ordinance changing some dates of the activities schedule of the 2023 Basic Education School Census.
The census is the main statistical survey of basic education in the country. The data collected in the survey serve as a basis for the transfer of funds from the federal government and for the planning and dissemination of data from evaluations carried out by Inep.
The survey – divided into two stages – also helps in understanding the educational situation in the country and in monitoring the effectiveness of public policies, since information about educational establishments, classes, students, administrators and professionals in the classroom is collected.
With the changes released this Monday, in Brasília, the Educacenso System will now be available for data declaration on May 31st. In the previous calendar, the start was scheduled for May 24. On May 31, the collection of data from the Initial Enrollment will also begin, including the typing and export processes. The deadline for closing the collection will be on July 31 of this year.
The sending of preliminary data to the Ministry of Education for publication in the Official Diary of the Union will pass from the 18th of August to the 23rd of the same month.
Submission to the National Fund for the Development of Education (FNDE) of the final approved data of the 2023 Basic Education School Census, for the calculation of the distribution coefficients of the Fund for the Maintenance and Development of Basic Education and the Valuation of Education Professionals (Fundeb) , will move from the 8th of December to the 10th of the same month.

Another changed date concerns the submission to the Ministry of Education of final declared and approved data from the 2023 School Census of Basic Education, which should now be done on December 11th. The previous schedule called for this to ship on December 8th. The preparation of final data for release will now be done in the period from December 11, 2023 to January 26, 2024.
The disclosure of the Basic Education Statistical Synopses by Inep will be made on January 31 of next year.
The ordinance also changes the schedule for collecting data on performance and school movement of students declared in the first collection stage of the 2023 School Census, including data entry and export, which should be carried out between February 1st and March 11th, 2024.

The availability of preliminary performance rates and reports per school in the Student Situation module, for verification, ratification and rectification of eventual errors, by municipal and state managers will be made on April 1st of the next year.
The availability of the Student Situation module for checking, ratification and rectification of any errors will also be opened on that date, with an expected completion date of April 15th.
In the same period, the verification, ratification and rectification of any errors in the information provided during the collection period of the 2022 Student Situation will be carried out.
The ordinance also changes the dates for the final verification of the data processed after the period of verification, ratification and rectification of any errors, in the Student Situation module, which will be promoted from April 16 to 30, 2024.
The availability of reports by school in the Student Situation module, containing the final data on performance and school attendance, will be on May 10 of next year. Finally, the disclosure of school performance indicators on the Inep portal will be on May 10, 2024.
