Authorities from the National Institute for Employment and Vocational Training (Inefop) presented Despegue Digital, a pilot project that will initially provide 100 people with the opportunity to incorporate basic digital skills and improve their employability conditions. Through an agreement between the institute and Ceibal, the participants will receive a computer equipment, indicated the general director of Inefop, Pablo Darscht.
The chief, accompanied by members of the Inefop board, participated in the presentation, this Wednesday 29 at the Eduland institute.
Digital Takeoff It is a project with the objective of advancing in the digital literacy of those who are unaware of the technological world, and offering transversal skills for insertion in the labor market.
The contents are divided into 12 face-to-face classes, through which the use of basic digital tools such as browsers, email, and responsible management of information on social networks will be addressed, Darscht informed the Presidential Communication.
Currently, Inefop is developing this pilot program in five areas of Montevideo and the metropolitan area. The institution relies on the work of social organizations with “an anchor” in the territories, which were selected through a call, explained the hierarch.
In a second stage, those who complete the training will be able to access the Digital Skills for Employability program, developed by Inefop in conjunction with Microsoft, in which more than 13,000 people have already participated. In this proposal, the students will be able to learn about spreadsheets, presentations, web design, collaborative work and job search tools.
Finally, the students will participate in instances of job orientation and specific training linked to the world of work.
As explained by Darscht, in two months the results of the activity will be evaluated and the possibility of making a call that will allow the training of some 2,500 people throughout the country will be analyzed.
The hierarch also informed that, through an agreement established between Inefop and Ceibal, a computer will be delivered to each participant.
Likewise, the institute will guarantee connectivity to facilitate the development of the course. In this sense, the digital inclusion of the population in terms of employment is promoted through an approach that brings together connectivity, universal access to technology and the development of digital skills.
