INEC received the first consignment of technological equipment for the Population and Housing censuses

The company Cable & Wireless delivered the first 150 of a total of 8,650 mobile capture devices (DMC) to the National Institute of Statistics and Census (INEC), as a work tool to be used in the project of the next National Census XII and of Population VIII of Housing.

The purpose of the delivery of these technological equipment, DMC, is to begin to calibrate the operating system, so that they are fully enabled in the execution of the census project.

For his part, Samuel A. Moreno P., director of the INEC, stated that due to electrification and connectivity, these mobile capture devices will be used mainly in urban areas, and we will also combine the use of the DMC and the paper questionnaire for hard-to-reach areas.

However, the INEC expects, from the company Cable & Wireless, two deliveries of 4,250 DMC agreed for the months of May and June.
