The executive director of the National Institute of Statistics (INE), Humberto Arandia, reported that the progress of the Statistical Cartographic Update (ACE) in the country reached 70% this Wednesday (February 22), data that qualified it as a milestone.

The authority said that thanks to the technological innovation that they have implemented during this time, it was possible to develop a monitoring system in almost real time.

In this sense, he stated that the department of Oruro advanced by 99% and in two weeks it would be about to become the third department to conclude the field operation, corresponding to the pre-census stage.

At the moment, the only two departments that have completed 100% with the cartographic update are Pando and Beni. Santa Cruz is lagging behind and in last place with a 62% advance.

“A new milestone, but above all, a clear sign that the census does not stop”, highlighted Arandia in the weekly report.

As for the rest of the departments, Arandia pointed out that Chuquisaca reached 75%, Potosí 73%; Tarija 72%; La Paz 68% and Cochabamba 65%.

Regarding the work in the capital cities, the director of the INE said that La Paz registers a progress of 92% and in Santa Cruz de la Sierra it is at 85%. The cities where the ACE culminated are Trinidad, Sucre, Oruro, Potosí, Cobija, Tarija, Cochabamba and El Alto.

stressed the coordination that the entity had with the Mayor of La Pazwhich through the mayor Iván Arias, achieved logistical and infrastructure support for the later stages of the registration.

Intermediate cities and scattered areas in Oruro report 98.5% growthin Potosí an increase of 74.4%, in Chuquisaca there is progress with 65.2%, followed by Tarija with 47.5%, Cochabamba with 44.6%, Santa Cruz with 36.9% and finally La Paz. , with 16%.

“We lack the regions furthest away from the border with Chile,” he said regarding the work in Oruro and Potosí.

He announced that for next week work will increase in the provinces . In the case of Cochabamba, the province of Chapare will be covered, in the municipality of Sacaba; also Capinota; and Arbieto.

As regards Santa Cruz, the work will focus on the displacement of brigades in the capital municipality and Cotoca.

And in La Paz, three municipalities in the Manco Kapac province (Copacabana, Tito Yupanqui, San Pedro de Tiquina), two municipalities in the Los Andes province (Laja and Pucarani) and two municipalities in the Inquisivi province (Cajuata, Quime and Colquiri).

We are planning to finish the cartographic update in Augustby September to finish the data segmentation,” he said.

He pointed out that these two data will allow us to know how many ballots will be needed nationwidealthough they estimate that they will require 5 million ballots.
