The Complaints and Complaints Commission of the National Electoral Institute (INE) denied four requests for the withdrawal of messages related to alleged early campaign acts by various officials and candidates for a position of popular representation.
The complaints were filed for alleged personalized promotion, violation of the principles of impartiality and neutrality in the contest, anticipated pre-campaign and campaign acts, as well as improper use of public resources.
In a first issue, the National Action (PAN) and Institutional Revolutionary (PRI) parties filed complaints against the Citizen Movement (MC); of Samuel García Sepúlveda, governor of Nuevo León, and various officials of the state administration, for the alleged carrying out of anticipated campaign acts, improper use of public resources and personalized promotion.
The foregoing, for their attendance and participation in the meeting called National Democracy Convention
held on December 5 in Mexico City, in which the current governor was presumably positioned for the 2023-2024 contest.
For this reason, they requested that the social networks Alphabet, YouTube, Meta and Facebook be ordered to suspend the dissemination of publications alluding to this activity.
The commission considered the petition inadmissible because the convention did not issue positions before the citizens with a view to the next federal electoral process.
In the cases resolved yesterday, the alleged improper use of resources is an issue that will be resolved by the Electoral Tribunal of the Federal Judiciary.
Another case
In another file, the council members of this commission denied imposing precautionary measures requested by a citizen against Adán Augusto López Hernández, Secretary of the Interior; Rutilio Escandón Cadenas, governor of Chiapas, and several deputies from Morena, participated in two activities carried out on October 18 in that southern entity.
The measures were declared inadmissible because the federal electoral process begins next September.
Likewise, the opinion of counselors and magistrates has become common in the sense that the materials on social networks do not constitute an infringement because the citizen must show interest in such content to carry out the corresponding search.
The inadmissibility of the precautionary measures requested by the Morena party for the transmission of a promotional for television advertised by the PRI, for its diffusion in the inter-campaign period in the state of Mexico, was also determined, the same towards a spot of Morena, of his gubernatorial candidate.
