Packed by the heating of production and consumption, the actual revenues (discounted inflation) of the transformation industry grew 5.6% in 2024, announced on Friday (7) Industrial Indicators Research, the National Confederation of Industry (CNI) . Even though it has fallen 1.3% from November to December, the sector had the highest annual growth since 2010.
According to CNI, the demand for industrialized goods was encouraged by low unemployment, increased government spending and higher credit granting. The combination of these factors points to the entity, maintained consumption and investment heated, which was reflected in greater revenues.
The number of hours worked in production grew 4.2% last year compared to 2023. In December, however, the index decreased by 1.3%, showing industry’s slowdown at the end of 2024.
The use of installed capacity (UCI) fell 0.8 percentage point in December, closing 2024 by 78.2%, in the free series of seasonal effects (without typical oscillations of the time of year). In the average last year, UCI grew 0.6 percentage point compared to 2023.
The good performance of the industry in 2024 is also reflected in the job market. Last year, the number of active jobs in the sector rose 2.2%. The salary mass grew 3%, and the average income of the industrial worker increased by 0.8%.
In December, however, the indicators were not so good. The level of jobs remained stable, but the salary wine and the average worker yield retreated 0.5% in the month.
Held since 1992 in partnership with state industry federations, research identifies, monthly, the short -term evolution of the transformation industry activity. Research states account for over 90% of the Brazilian industrial product.
