The Industry Confidence Index (ICI), calculated by the Getulio Vargas Foundation (FGV), rose 2.3 points from April to May this year and reached 99.7 points, on a scale from zero to 200 points. This was the second consecutive increase in the indicator, which reached the highest level since December last year (100.1 points).
There was an increase in business confidence in 12 of the 19 Brazilian industry segments surveyed by FGV.
The Expectations Index, which analyzes business confidence in the future, grew 3 points and reached 99 points. The Current Situation Index, which calculates the perception of the present, rose 1.6 points and reached 100.4 points.
The Installed Capacity Utilization Level (Nuci) of Industry increased by 1 percentage point in May and reached 80.8%, the highest level since October 2021.
