The president of the National Chamber of Oilseed Industries of Bolivia (Caniob), Jorge Amantegui, has responded to the recent statements of the Santa Cruz Poultry Farmers Association (ADA), which stated that the industry is not delivering solvent soy flour to the producers. Amantegui denied these claims and assured that the sector is supplying the domestic market on a regular basis.

“Despite the reduction of 800,000 tons in the production of soybean grain in the current campaign, and that there have been exports and the sellers of agricultural inputs are charging in grain, the oilseed industries They have fulfilled the grinding and are satisfying the domestic market continuously,” Amantegui emphasized.

The executive also clarified that the two plants mentioned by ADA as paralyzed are complying with their deliveries to producers as established by the Government, since They have a guaranteed stock for the domestic market. In addition, he highlighted that the collection of flour remains stable, even in the quotas destined for Cochabamba.

If ADA producers and other livestock sectors are experiencing delays in receiving product, Amantegui suggested that They should investigate if there are diversions of flour to the black marketgiven that the current subsidy allows industries to sell solvent soy flour at $363 per ton, while in Desaguadero it is being smuggled to Peru at a premium of $120 per ton, taking advantage of the difference in the exchange rate. .

In relation to the claim about the insufficiency in the Government’s allocations to ADA, Amantegui explained that “the demand for solvent soy flour (HSS) does not always coincide with reality.” The process established by the Executive to grant quotas includes verification of bird movement guides and inspecting farms to assess their capacity, before determining allocations.

Finally, Amantegui concluded that the supply of the domestic market is guaranteedalthough he acknowledged that the blockades in the country are affecting deliveries and especially exports, which are carried out by trucks with difficulties in reaching the border with byproducts destined for export. The Caniob executive expressed his hope that this situation will be resolved soon, to ensure the continuity of exports of soybean by-products and maintain the flow of foreign currency to the country.
