Industrial production in Mexico falls for the second consecutive month in September

So far this year, industrial production has had four monthly falls: February, June, August and September. Still, in September, it remained 4.3% above 2021 levels.

Of the four main components that make up the indicator, growth was only observed in construction, of 0.2% monthly in September.

On the contrary, monthly falls were registered in mining (-1.2%), manufacturing industries (-0.3%) and in generation, transmission and distribution of electrical energy, supply of water and gas through pipelines to the final consumer (-0.6%).

At an annual rate, however, manufacturing industries maintain a growth of 8.3%.

By sectors that advanced the most, manufacturing of computer equipment, communication, measurement and other equipment, with an advance at an annual rate of 15.4%, and the manufacture of products derived from petroleum and coal, with growth of 15.0%.
