Indotel cedes five premises to Conani to install temporary homes and offices

Indotel cede cinco locales al Conani para instalar hogares de paso y oficinas

Santo Domingo. – The National Council for Children and Adolescents (Conani) and the Dominican Institute of Telecommunications (Indotel) signed an agreement on Tuesday
inter-institutional cooperation and coordination agreement for the transfer of five Indotel properties in different locations in the country.

The agreement contemplates the use that will be given to the facilities, intended for Conani operational offices and new transit homes to accommodate children and
teenager at risk.

The agreement was signed by the first lady Raquel Arbaje as a witness in her capacity as president of the Cabinet for Children and Adolescents; the CEO
from Conani Luisa Ysabel Ovando; the executive director of Conani Alexandra Inmaculada Santelises; and the president of the Indotel Nelson Arroyo Perdomo.

As a result of this signing, both organizations seek to strengthen the national protection system, as well as inter-institutional articulation.

Arbaje indicated that this agreement is a step forward on the path that must be followed for the Social State of Law to make full sense. It is also an example of the force generated by the union of wills in favor of the same purpose, in this case, to provide new spaces to receive with dignity the children and adolescents that life, inequalities and violence have expelled from the family environment.

The executive president of Conani, Dr. Luisa Ovando, expressed her gratitude to the governing body for telecommunications and stressed: “This collaborative effort, from which an important part of our childhood and adolescence will benefit, is part of the actions to strengthen of the protection system.

Ovando highlighted that this agreement with Indotel provides “solutions and improvements to the response capacity, in the short term, which will allow greater coverage and
timely care in protection programs”.

While the president of Indotel, Nelson Arroyo Perdomo, indicated that with this agreement the commitment to serve the people is reiterated and that it is a priority of
government of Luis Abinader to give efficient and responsible use to state assets.

“As long as you put will and effort into what we do, we will achieve it. As public officials we are here to serve, we can say that what
What we do today is with a lot of love for the children and adolescents of our country,” Arroyo pointed out.

The signatory parties agree that the premises will be transferred as a loan until August 2024, with the possibility of renewal.

The signed document establishes that the National Council for Children and Adolescents is in charge of designing, implementing and putting into operation
the homes and offices that will be installed in the ceded spaces. The management, sustainability, administration and maintenance of the aforementioned properties are also under their absolute responsibility.

Indotel undertakes to assume the right to carry out the periodic supervision of sanitation, demarcation and subdivision works and surveys that are carried out
in the properties owned by you whose use has been assigned, free of charge, to Conani.

Also participating in the signing ceremony, on behalf of Conani, were Nicomedes Capriles, financial advisor; Jose Garcia, administrative and financial director; Clivet Romero, lawyer from the legal department; Jasmine Perez, director of human resources; Pazzis Paulino, in charge of Territorial Management and Paola Rodriguez, liaison between Gana and Conani.

On behalf of Indotel, the following attended: the members of the Board of Directors, Hilda Patricia Polanco and Príamo Ramírez, as well as the directors of Human Resources, Franklin Cueto; Authorizations, Saizka Subero; Legal, Juan Feliz Moreta; Radioelectric Spectrum, Alberto Delgado; Regulation and Defense of Competition, Luis Scheker; of User Protection, Rosa Fernández, among other collaborators of the regulatory body.
