Santo Domingo.- The Dominican Institute of Meteorology (Indomet) reported that, although rainfall has decreased in much of the Cibao region, during the next few hours and at night, new downpours accompanied by thunderstorms and gusts of wind are expected in several provinces that remain under weather alert and warning.
According to the report, the rainy activity has extended towards the southwest and southeast of the countryfocusing on Pedernales, Barahona, San Juan, Baoruco, Azua, San José de Ocoa, San Cristóbal, Monte Plataas well as sectors of Santo Domingo, San Pedro de Macorís, Hato Mayor, El Seibo, La Romana and La Altagraciawhere rainfall of variable intensity, thunderstorms and gusts of wind are recorded that could continue until the early hours of the night.
Indomet indicated that for the Tuesday morning Rains of varying intensity will continue, with possible thunderstorms and gusts of wind in María Trinidad Sánchez, Duarte, Monseñor Nouel, La Vega, Monte Plata, sectors of Santo Domingoin addition to the coasts of Hato Mayor and El Seiboas well as Espaillat, Mirabal Sisters, Puerto Plata and Monte Cristi.

However, the meteorological organization explained that during Tuesday morning the frontal system will move away from the national territory and a less humid air mass will begin to influence, causing a gradual decrease in precipitationespecially towards the Atlantic coast. For the afternoon, more isolated and locally moderate rains are expected in Pedernales, Baoruco, the mountainous area of Barahona, San Juan, Peravia and Azuawhich will cease during the night.
Regarding temperatures, Indomet indicated that they will feel pleasant to cool during the night and early morningespecially in mountainous areas and valleys in the interior of the country, where they could occur fogs and mists. During the day, temperatures will be slightly warm due to the presence of the sun.
