Indomet monitors possible cyclones; little rain tonight

During the night, rainy conditions disappear in much of the country and the Dominican Institute of Meteorology (Indomet) reported that it is monitoring possible cyclones.

It was reported that during the night the conditions of moderate downpours, thunderstorms and gusts of wind that occurred during the afternoon in San Pedro de Macorís, La Romana, Monte Plata, San Cristóbal, Duarte and Sánchez Ramírez disappeared.

Also in Santo Domingo and the National District, rainy conditions disappear during the night.

Tomorrow, the anticyclonic circulation will be limiting rainfall in much of the country and during the morning hours only isolated showers are expected in La Altagracia, Samaná, María Trinidad Sánchez, Hato Mayor, El Seibo and Espaillat, Indomet said.

However, in the afternoon, cloudiness will increase in San Pedro de Macorís, Hato Mayor, Monte Plata, Greater Santo Domingo, San Cristóbal, Monseñor Nouel, San José de Ocoa, La Vega, Hermanas Mirabal, Espaillat, San Juan, Elías Piña, among other nearby areas, where moderate to heavy showers with thunderstorms and gusts of wind are expected, due to the incidence of a trough and local effects.

National District: partly cloudy to cloudy with showers, thunderstorms and gusts of wind, ceasing during the night.

Indomet reported that it continues to monitor three phenomena. One is located near the Lesser Antilles and the Caribbean Sea, producing showers associated with a tropical wave over the Atlantic.

The second is another tropical wave between the west coast of Africa and the Cape Verde Islands.
