Leaders of the five indigenous peoples of the state of Zulia, participated in the State Congress of the New Era, Indigenous Chapter. There they systematized the government proposals gathered in the assemblies carried out in twenty municipalities of the entity, highlighting the Chavista unity in order to guarantee the continuity of the Bolivarian Revolution.
Noelí Pocaterra, national tutor of the Congress of the New Era, Indigenous Chapter, stressed that the difference in criteria and visions between indigenous organizations and social movements does not limit the consensus to unify plans and projects that contribute to increasingly improve the living conditions of the original families.
Proposals in response to needs
“There are many problems and needs to solve and that is why we are working and promoting this congress, but we cannot forget that before the Bolivarian Revolution we were excluded from all government policies and made invisible. It was the arrival of Chávez to power that opened the doors to inclusion and demands, today Nicolás Maduro continues that legacy and extends his hand to decolonize the country”, stated Pocaterra.
Likewise, Yosmary Fernández, national tutor of the congress, expressed that each proposal formulated is important because it contributes to the Concrete Action Agenda, President Maduro’s government route until 2030 and allows the application of programs appropriate to the idiosyncrasies of the ancestral peoples.
In turn, Glenis Semprún, regional tutor of the political event, described the activity as a reunion of the original peoples, emphasizing that under terms of respect and breadth, the proposals will become the voice of the indigenous communities of Zulia before the Venezuelan head of state. and demonstrate absolute support for him in the 2024 elections.
Participatory debate in each indigenous community
Semprún explained that the debate addressed issues of great importance for indigenous people such as intercultural education, health, ancestral wisdom, transportation, economy, agricultural production, crafts, culture, among other aspects of interest.
“We toured twenty municipalities of Zulia, so that the populations could present their concerns and projects, which will be raised in the national plenary with the presence of President Maduro, “said González.
The regional assembly was held in the spaces of Carbozulia and included the participation of the regional team of the Congress of the New Era; Lisandro Márquez, Freddy Panapera, Miguel Albatrai, Arly González, the mayor of Guajira; Indira Fernández, indigenous councilors from the Zulia municipalities, representatives of popular power, indigenous organizations, who promised to continue in the fight for the demands and revolutionary continuity of the country.
Attention to indigenous communities in Machiques
Corpozulia, together with other public service entities such as Hidrolago, Corpoelec, Education and Health of the Bolivarian Government, held an emergency meeting to serve the indigenous communities of the Machiques de Perijá Municipality.
This event was held at the Machiques National Guard Command, with the participation of the ministries: for Indigenous Peoples and Food; of the PSUV political team and the social movements.
GB Marlon Fajardo, on behalf of the president of Corpozulia, MG Federico Guzmán, will coordinate with the other institutions the approach that has already begun in these communities. In the development of this activity, the case of basins and situations of vulnerability were evaluated.
