Indigenous people of Chiquitos warn of blocking the Bioceánica highway if the ABT and the INRA do not attend to their demands

The Indigenous Central of Chiquitos Turubó, through a decisive vote, warns of blocking the Bioceánica highway, in case the directors of the Forest and Land Authority (ABT) and the Agrarian Reform Institute (INRA) do not attend to their demands.

Among the resolutions is the first article: “to ensure their rights as indigenous peoples are respected, determining the possession of the judges of the Indigenous Original Peasant jurisdiction of the Eastern Amazon and Chaco of Bolivia Lowlands, within the framework of legal pluralism, the hierarchy between the jurisdiction ordinary, agro-environmental and indigenousrespecting our determination in the exercise of the right of self-determination in defense of their ancestral territories, the environment and natural resources, established, protected and guaranteed by the Political Constitution of the State”.

While the second points to his pressure measurement: “Blockade of roads and railway lines from midnight on Wednesday, October 30, until the national director of the ABT and INRA can be present at our Indigenous Communities Center of Chiquitos Turubó, located in the municipality of San José de Chiquitos, with the objective of informing and providing solutions to these environmental problems that we have been experiencing, as a result of administrative actions that are not related to the impact that is occurring in the municipality.
