After being indicted by the Federal Police (PF), former president Jair Bolsonaro published on his account on the social network X, this Thursday (21), excerpts from his interview with the Metrópoles news portal. In the report, he informs that he will wait for his lawyer to evaluate the indictment.
“We have to see what’s in this PF indictment. I’ll wait for the lawyer. This, obviously, goes to the Attorney General’s Office. It’s in the PGR that the fight begins. I can’t expect anything from a team that uses creativity to denounce me”, said the former president.
Bolsonaro also criticized Minister Alexandre de Moraes, rapporteur of the case at the Federal Supreme Court (STF). “Minister Alexandre de Moraes conducts the entire investigation, adjusts statements, arrests without complaint, carries out evidentiary fishing and has very creative advice. He does everything that the law does not say”, criticized Bolsonaro.
Bolsonaro is one of 37 people indicted in the Federal Police investigation that investigates the existence of a criminal organization accused of acting in coordination to prevent the then-elected president, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, and his vice, Geraldo Alckmin, from taking over the government in 2022 , succeeding then president Jair Bolsonaro, defeated in the last presidential elections.
The final report of the investigation has already been sent to the Federal Supreme Court (STF). Also indicted for the crimes of violent abolition of the Democratic Rule of Law, coup d’état and criminal organization were former Navy commander Almir Garnier Santos; the former director of the Brazilian Information Agency (Abin) Alexandre Ramagem; former Minister of Justice Anderson Torres; the former minister of the Institutional Security Office (GSI) Augusto Heleno; Army lieutenant colonel Mauro Cid, Bolsonaro’s former aide-de-camp; the president of PL, Valdemar Costa Neto; and the former Minister of the Civil House and Defense, Walter Souza Braga Netto.
Last Tuesday (19), the PF performed an operation to arrest members of a criminal organization responsible for planning the murders of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, vice-president Geraldo Alckmin, and minister Alexandre de Moraes.
