On November 14, Agustín Lara, who served as deputy director of the Public Registry, was assassinated in the middle of a political act by the PRD in Los Andes # 2, San Miguelito. Since then the authorities have searched for his executioner, who, according to a protected witness, is Yeísmo Felipe Possu Mera.
However, Possu Mera appeared today, voluntarily, before the DIJ of San Miguelito accompanied by his lawyer Sarai Bleisdell, who assured the media that his client is innocent of the charges brought against him for the crime of murder.
“I come here with Yeísmo Felipe Possu Mera, an innocent man and we are going to prove that, because this young man has been identified only by a protected witness, who has said that he has seen him directly,” Bleisdell said.
However, “something so elemental in its characteristic has not been able to point it out. He is innocent of the charges, ”added the lawyer, indicating that her client has a scar on his face and a tattoo, which were not mentioned by the protected witness at the time of his statement, after saying that he saw him directly.
When asked why Possu Mera did not turn herself in to authorities earlier, Bleisdell responded that she needed an effective defense. He added that for being innocent they will not agree to a sentence.
On the other hand, he said that the reward that of the $ 10 thousand dollars offered by the National Police to whoever gave information that would lead to the capture of his client, be destined for the poor children of the country.
For its part, the Public Ministry reported on its Twitter account: “The San Miguelito Prosecutor’s Office specified the apprehension of a 30-year-old citizen of Colombian nationality, allegedly linked to the crime of homicide, to the detriment of a public official, registered on the last November 14 at Los Andes # 2 “.
