INDEX provides assistance to Puerto Plata and Monte Plata

Santo Domingo de Guzmán.- The Institute of Dominicans Abroad (INDEX), through its offices in New Jersey and New York, carried out co-development activities in the provinces of Monte Plata and Puerto Plata, respectively, where they provided assistance to residents of several localities of these demarcations managed by their compatriots residing in these States of the United States of America.

The main objective of the activity carried out in Sabana Grande de Boyá, Monte Plata, was to improve the conditions of health services in that municipality where the INDEX New Jersey office donated therapeutic devices, among other necessary aid, with an estimated value greater than US$10,000.

Meanwhile, in another event held in the community of Sabaneta de Cangrejos, Sosúa, Puerto Plata province, the INDEX New York office, in collaboration with the Provincial Committee of Puertoplateños USA. Inc., held a meeting in which the Mustard Seed Communities Foundation received a donation of essential supplies, such as disposable diapers, to meet the needs of the children and adolescents who attend.

In both activities, the director of Linkage and Co-development of INDEX, Anna Hernández, was representing the vice minister for Dominican Communities Abroad and executive director of INDEX, Carlos de la Mota, who highlighted that with these meetings this institution attached to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, seeks to bring help to Dominicans in different regions of the country managed by their fellow nationals who have emigrated, and with this in turn maintain their link with their place of residence. origin.

The activity in Monte Plata was also attended by the Civil Governor, Rafaela Javier Gomera; the mayor of the municipality of Sabana Grande de Boyá, Marcos Tavárez; and the person in charge of the Legal Affairs division of INDEX New Jersey, Edwin Antoine. While
