The Independent Union of Free and Democratic Workers of Saint Gobain, started its affiliation campaign outside the company located in the Industrial Park in Cuautla, Morelos; where he also presented the National Executive Committee that makes up the organization that recently received its certificate as a union from the Federal Labor Center.
Joaquín Guzmán Ángel, secretary general of the Independent Union, confirmed that a labor recount had already been requested in the Labor Tribunal for Collective Affairs, which would allow the workers to decide between two visions of unionism, “the independent and democratic”, or to continue with the corporatism represented by the Union affiliated with the Confederation of Workers and Peasants (CTC).
After keeping “under reserve” the names of the members of the new organization; This Friday they started a dissemination and information campaign with the workers to publicize the new union proposal and presented the Executive Committee made up of 9 portfolios, in which 4 are women.
The French capital company, Saint Gobain, has operations in Mexico, in the states of Morelos, Tlaxcala, San Luis Potosí, Coahuila, Baja California and Tamaulipas, and it is in Cuautla, where auto parts are manufactured that are distributed to assemblers such as Volkswagen, Nissan and Audi; and it is this collective bargaining agreement that in the near future will enter into an election process.
Some of the proposals presented by the union organization headed by Joaquín Guzmán Ángel are: to comply with the consultations and votes of the workers in the revisions and salary agreements, economic, labor benefits and payment of utilities; transparency and honesty in rendering quotas every two months; as well as the discounts that are applied for help and deaths.
