Marcela León, president of ASI Venezuela, informed that the Central Sindical is preparing for the installation of the Social Dialogue Forum, at the end of September, in Caracas and in which the International Labor Organization will participate.
The president of the Central of Workers Independent Trade Union Alliance (ASI Venezuela), Marcela León, reproached the National Assembly (AN) elected in 2020 and the government of Nicolás Maduro for lack of public policies to address the economic crisis plaguing the nation.
León, taking into account that the current salary is equivalent to $20 dollars, insisted that the Legislature and the Executive take into account the proposal for a Labor Emergency Law, which contemplates the award of a minimum vital income bonus for each worker who could be financed by funds from international organizations, which they presented in 2021.

León questioned the work of the National Assembly, because “given the magnitude of the macroeconomic crisis, it has not acted in defense of workers, nor has it generated an Emergency Salary Law, which allows the indexing and progressive recovery of labor and trade union rights and freedoms.” .
“The Central ASI presented this proposal and the Executive Branch has not generated public employment policies in the face of the pandemic and the crisis, such as, for example, creating jobs in the construction sector, in renewable energies, in the recovery of public services, in new technologies. , in the green and platform economy, and in the care economy”, he asserted.
The union leader recalled that the average minimum wage and the retirement pension of Venezuelans have been impacted by three reconversions and devaluations have pulverized them. She pointed out that in Argentina the average salary is equivalent to $233; in Brazil $214; Panama $365; in Ecuador $425 $ and in Peru $233.
The president of ASI Venezuela reported that the Trade Union Central is preparing for the installation of the Social Dialogue Forum, at the end of September, in Caracas. She pointed out that in the next few days they will analyze what results have been obtained after the previous meeting, which had the technical advice of the International Labor Organization.
He stressed that there is a stalemate and for that reason the guilds and unions insist on denouncing and proposing. In this sense, he explained that a development program will be put on the table through the Labor Emergency Law, so that concrete results can be achieved in the round of dialogue that will begin in Caracas from September 26 to 28.
