Indepaz reported 12 massacres in Antioquia in 2025, with 37 victims and August as the most critical month for multiple murders.
Twelve massacres have been perpetrated in the department of Antioquia throughout 2025leaving a balance of 37 people murdered, according to official data from Indepaz.

This figure represents the 16% of the national total of 75 massacres reported to date throughout the country, consolidating the department as one of the hardest hit by violence.
The most critical period was recorded in the month of August, which concentrated the highest peak of violence with four multiple murders. These events claimed the lives of fifteen people in municipalities such as La Unión, San Pedro de Urabá, Betulia and Santa Bárbara.
The acts of violence have continued until the last days of November, generating consternation among public opinion and the authorities.
The most recent case occurred last Monday, November 25, in the Gaitán de Yondó neighborhood, where Three people were attacked and killed inside an establishment open to the public.
Meanwhile, on Saturday, November 8, the municipality of El Carmen de Viboral was the scene of another tragic event. Three people were murdered in the Tahamíes neighborhood, among them Andrés Giraldo, a renowned youth leader in the region.

Two of the cases perpetrated in August:
- August 30 – The Union: In the San Juan village, four bodies were found lifeless inside a home, in what constituted another multiple murder.
- August 23 – San Pedro de Urabá: Molinillo sidewalk; A man shot indiscriminately at the attendees of a party, murdering two relatives and the current partner of his former romantic partner.
For social corporations; The challenge for the State is not only the judicialization of the material and intellectual authors, but a structural intervention that guarantees institutional presence, effective territorial control and the real protection of human rights in the most vulnerable regions of the department of Antioquia.
