The National Institute for the Defense of Competition and the Protection of Intellectual Property (Indecopi) ruled on the cancellation of three airline flights Sky Airlinewhich covered the Cusco – Lima route (N°5016 and N°5080) and the Ayacucho – Lima route (N°H2 5210), last Wednesday, November 2, which affected hundreds of passengers.
Through a statement, the regulatory entity indicated that the regional offices in Cusco and Ayacucho began inspections of the airline SKY Airline, in order to know if these cancellations and/or rescheduling occur under just cause, and if they have been granted. compensation corresponding to passengers, as indicated by air transport regulations.
Likewise, Indecopi pointed out that in the event of a canceled flight, the airline has the obligation to cover food, lodging service, as well as the transfer to and from the airport.
Finally, the entity reminded passengers that if there is a flight delay greater than six hours, passengers have rights that support them.
“Passengers have the right to receive a snack, access to a mobile phone to make a call, food, lodging, transportation to and from the airport, as well as compensation for a minimum amount equivalent to 25% of the value of the unfulfilled journey.”, he pointed out.
