Indecopi launched a consumption alert after receiving a report from Rash Peru Srl, a company that markets electric scooters in the country through Coolbox and Urbanrider, on a serious technical failure in 1,230 units of the Roadtrip Black 3 model. The defect detected compromises the hermetic seal of the posterior wiring, which could allow the filtration of water and thereby generate a risk of short circuit.
Given the danger of the finding, the supplier proceeded to the preventive withdrawal of the product of its sales platforms and activated a call to technical review to reinforce the sealing of the already distributed units. Rash Peru has enabled their contact channels for consumers.
The full alert can be consulted in the official portal of the Indecopi consumption alerts system, a tool designed to warn citizens about risks not foreseen in products available in the market.
Recidivism in the Roadtrip brand
This new case adds to a previous alert issued in June of this year, when 350 units of the Roadtrip 4 model were indicated by similar failures in the battery compartment, also associated with the risk of short circuit due to moisture income.
Repeated incidents show structural failures in the design or manufacture of this line scooters, which has motivated INDECOPI’s intervention to protect the integrity of consumers.
