How the Basic Food Basket is composed
The CBA is determined taking into account the regulatory, kilocalorie and protein requirements essential for an adult man between 30 and 60 years of age to cover, during a period of one month, the mentioned needs. It is taken, in the first instance, as a reference to this subject and then the variables of age, sex and activity are applied to determine the needs of each group.
The foods that are part of the CBA are also selected based on the information collected in the National Household Expenditure Survey, that is, the eating habits of the Argentine population are taken into account. The Basic Basket for an adult was 20,716 pesos for the month of November.
