Increases the number of minors injured in the Ney Arias

The trauma hospital Ney Arias Lora reported this Wednesday that there has been an increase in the number of injured minors, due to the lack of seat belt or for wearing it wrong.

“We have a high incidence, an increase in injuries and serious accidents of children and adolescents, because they do not use the seat belt or because they do not place it in the child’s car seat”, said the doctor Julius Landronhospital director.

Within the framework of the beginning of the preventive plan carried out by the hospital for this Holy Weekpointed out that most of the injured who arrive at the center are motorcyclists, for which he recommended the use of a protective helmet and to walk with caution.

He added that many cases of stab wounds and firearms are recorded as a result of high levels of alcohol consumed during social activities. In this sense, the doctor exhorted the population to correctly use the seat belt on all passengers in the vehicle.

In addition to inviting them not to consume alcoholic beverages and drive responsibly.

Regarding the holiday of Holy Weekthe head of the medical center indicated that they are prepared to provide care to all people who need it.

“As the most important trauma hospital in the country, we have designed a whole plan to be able to respond to what is always expected due to the large mobilization of people,” he said.

Landrón indicated that by Thursday they will have 70 fixed beds for the operation, while emergencies have 20. The doctor pointed out that they also reinforced the medical part with specialists and support personnel, in addition to supplying the center’s pharmacies.

He reported that they carry out a campaign called “A challenge for life” in order to make the population aware of the importance of respecting traffic signs and the use of seat belt.
