The Chamber of Deputies gave half sanction to the bill “That modifies articles 187 and 192 of Law No. 1,160/97 – Penal Code; with which the penalties for fraud cases are increased. Said regulations had been sent to the National Commission for the Study of the Reform of the Penal and Penitentiary System, whose recommendation was the basis for the study and subsequent decision today.
“This project wishes to raise the criminal frameworks of the “Scam” and the “Injury of Confidence”, in especially serious cases, and nominate them for the purpose of establishing regulated examples of sentence measurement that indicate to the applicator the circumstances in which that the aggravating circumstance is possible because it has caused, or, where appropriate, not prevented damage to the State’s assets, as described in numerals 3 and 4 of the third paragraph of the project to amend article 187 of the Penal Code, they specified.
