The Minister of Economy and Finance (FEM), Oscar Grahamargued this Sunday that the increase in the Minimum Vital Remuneration (RMV) from S/ 930 to S/ 1,025, from May 1, will benefit approximately 700,000 formal workers who receive a minimum wage.
The head of the MEF specified that there are currently 5.6 million formal workers in the country.
In addition, Graham stated that the measure of the increase in the minimum wage meets the technical conditions to make the adjustment.
“The technical criteria and indicators that support this report state that the conditions for making an adjustment and making this increase are met”, indicated the minister in Punto Final.

In this sense, Graham pointed out that the opinion of the MEF is not binding in this case and does not require the approval of the Council of Ministers, since it is an analysis carried out by the Ministry of Labor and Employment Promotion (MTPE).
“The evaluation of the criteria that have been taken reveal that there is time and space to make an adjustment”, he added.
