In recent weeks, one of the foods that had the most increases was meat, given the strong rise in the price of farms at the beginning of the year; whereby, Matias Tombolini He anticipated that they are working on a cost agreement with the butcher shops.
As emphasized the secretary of commerce, work is being done on a set of measures so that the price of meat, which will rise more in the coming days, does not affect consumers so drastically and, therefore, inflation. As he explained Matias Tombolinithe deal will be announced in the coming days.
“There are a series of negotiations that will be announced shortly. A set of measures that the Minister of Economy will expose to be able to operate on the pocket in butcher shops and also some powerful determination on the Care Cuts program ”, he indicated Matias Tombolini in dialogue for FM Urbana Play.
In this sense, the official remarked: “There is a process open to advance measures that allow us to equalize this impact. There was a delay in terms of meat prices, but we are not going to allow abuses either ”.
He also explained: “It is true that the price increased 62.4% in 2022 (below inflation, which was 94.8%). But in 2021 it had risen 10 points above inflation, 18 above in 2020, and 8 above in 2019.
For this reason, for the Government it will be a priority to set limits on the increase, since according to the businessmen this food will reach up to $400 during February.
“We have to address the issue of meat, which is central to Argentines. As in all activities, there also appears under or over-invoicing as a distorting instrument of the internal market,” he said. Tombolini.
