The National Social Security Council approved an increase in pensions for Permanent Disability and Survival of Occupational Risk Insurance.
During a regular session, the council approved the Resolution No. 560-07which instructs the Dominican Institute for Prevention and Protection of Occupational Risks (Idoppril) to proceed to update and improve said pensions, taking at least 8,000 pesos.
In a press release, the institution reported that this measure has a positive impact on the quality of life of pensioners, to the extent that their ability to purchase goods and services will increase. The amount of the total and partial disability pension will be reviewed and updated every three years, while the survivorship pension will be reviewed every five years.
The Permanent Commission of Occupational Risks of the CNSS proposed the increase after evaluating all the recommendations of the Superintendence of Health and Occupational Risks (Sisalril), actuarial study, technical and legal aspects.
The resolution establishes that the amount of a Pension for Permanent Disability covered by the Occupational Risk Insurance, aims to improve social protection against the risk of loss of earnings of workers affiliated to the Dominican Social Security System (SDSS).
The Permanent Commission of Occupational Risks of the CNSS It is made up of representatives of the government, employer, and labor sectors; of the disabled, indigent and unemployed and the Dominican Medical Association.
