Maximiliano Abraham He recalled that on June 9, 2022 he presented in the Legislative a proposal to build an inclusive square. “This initiative started from an idea by the mayor Diego Guevara de Soriano made in the Social Assistance Commission of the National Congress of Ediles” said.
“Our initial disposition was very basic, taking ideas of similar places made in other places. At that time the initiative was envity to the Youth and Adolescence Division of the Intendencia de Cerro Largo. Immediately Professor Fernando Coronel, head of said division, invited us to deepen and work on the project” said.
From there, a series of meetings and exchanges occurred with institutions that work with children and young people with different capacity, including grouping and Copahdim.
On the end of 2022 the Youth Fund promoted by INJU and the OPP was launched. “We participated in this call being selected to execute the project. The fund granted an amount of $ 400,000 with a counterpart of $ 100,000 from the intention” He recalled.
With the Architecture Division, the Maque was designed and with green spaces it was determined that this place should be in Rivera Park, behind the sports games. “This space would have a central barbecue with electricity, banks with chess boards, lighting, different sectors of inclusive games, calm area, postería with pictograms and a total fence of the area, the latter being together with the workforce the counterpart placed by the intention” The mayor of the National Party told.
“Due to the low budget, it was not possible said.
“Beyond this, we begin efforts to have a donation of games by the insurance bank as has already been done on other occasions. The response was negative due to the debt that the intention had with the institution” reported.

The mayor Abraham believes that these spaces are very necessary and must be priority for any administration. “We apologize to those who were excited about the construction of the square, which we still could not specify” lament.
Finally, the departmental legislator requested that a copy of the project with the design of the square was sent to different public bodies, including the Intendencia de Cerro Largo to be considered when making the reform of the General Fructuoso Rivera Park announced by the Christian Morel administration.
