INAI: FGR must report on 83 arrest warrants for the Ayotzinapa case

The resolution is given after a citizen disagreed with the response of the Prosecutor’s Office to a request for information on the 83 arrest warrants, as well as 21 arrest warrants on which the authority would have withdrawn.

Despite the fact that the FGR itself issued the FGR 387/22 statement where it mentions the 83 arrest warrants, it replied that it had not requested arrest warrants and had not withdrawn any of them.

Later, the Prosecutor’s Office specified that the name of the alleged perpetrators and accused is reserved and confidential information.

The project presented by Commissioner Adrián Alcalá Méndez indicates that the Prosecutor’s Office did not prove that it had carried out an exhaustive search for the requested information, nor did it provide certainty about the criteria used to locate the data of the orders.

The INAI commissioner pointed out that although making the names public would put the defendants at risk, this information is of public interest and is related to acts considered serious violations of human rights, for which reason the exception to the provided reserve applies. in article 112 of the Federal Transparency Law.
