The president of the National Institute of Civil Aeronautics of Venezuela (INAC), Juan Manuel Teixeira, reported that 2022 will culminate with more than 50% operation on international flights.
“We are at 57%, almost reaching 60%. We recently opened flights to Colombia. Very timidly, Turpial started on November 7 with two weekly flights and on November 9 the Colombian state airline, Satena, started,” he said in an interview with Unión Radio on November 23.

He pointed out that the figures for passenger transport at the national level were also exceeded. He estimated that the year will close with a 12% increase in the number of operations and passengers transported, compared to 2019.
The official pointed out that other foreign airlines such as Euro Atlantic for the Caracas-Madeira route will arrive in the country. He reiterated that there are more airline companies that have submitted applications to operate in the Venezuelan sky.
He announced that from December 8 to 11 the Expotransporte Internacional 2022 will be held in the Parque Simón Bolívar de la Carlota. “This is going to take place within the framework of the 118 years since the arrival of the automobile in Venezuela. Caracas is going to witness this exhibition which, I have to say, is the first time that the transport sector is going to present itself in an activity like this with all the sectors united”, he added.
In the event, operational sessions of the regulatory entities will be held, which will include registrations and updating of licenses.
“We are even going to make taxes for the payments of aeronautical rights that go from 50%. There will be conference cycles, business roundtables, shows and food fairs”, he added.
Teixeira indicated that this initiative will not only be a space for companies to expose their potential.
“What we are looking for there is that alliances between the private and public sectors are carried out. All this for the strengthening of the transport sector, ”he pointed out.
