In front of 4,089 fans, the team from Campinas added three more points to reach 36, in 10th position. For the Bahians, the setback represented remaining with 47 points, in the vice-leadership.
Ponte Preta’s victory was built with goals from Wallisson, in the 43rd minute of the first half with a header, and by Lucca, in the 9th minute of the final stage after a rehearsed corner kick.
The two teams return to the field for the competition next Saturday, with Bahia hosting Tombense at Fonte Nova and Ponte Preta visiting Chapecoense at Arena Condá.
