The controversies of Uriel Carmona
Uriel Carmona Gándara was appointed head of the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) of Morelos in 2018 by former governor Graco Ramírez Garrido Abreu.

In recent years he was involved in various scandals that even took him to prison in 2023 for various crimes; Among them, the alleged cover-up of Ariadna Fernanda’s feminicide, a young woman who in 2022 was located lifeless on the Mexico-Tepoztlán highway. In this case, Carmona was confronted with the former Government Chief of Mexico City and current president of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum.
Carmona Gándara was accused of his probable participation in crimes committed against the prosecution and administration of justice derived from that case, because while the authorities of Mexico City indicated that the young woman was a victim of femicide, the Morelos Prosecutor’s Office assured that the Cause of death of the young woman was a bronchoaspiration.
Thus, Sheinbaum accused Carmona of covering up Ariadna’s feminicide. “The Attorney General of the State of Morelos (Uriel Carmona) is covering up and trying to cover femicide,” he said on November 7, 2022.
The ex -fiscal, who was already investigated by the Anti -Corruption Prosecutor’s Office of Morelos, then insisted that there were not enough evidence to indicate that the cause of death of the young woman has been a feminicide.
This derives that, in August 2023, Carmona was arrested by elements of the Attorney General’s Office (FGR), with the support of Navy infants and elements of the State Security Police, accused of obstructing justice and then accused of torture.

Since 2018, Carmona also had several confrontations with the now federal deputy Cuahtémoc Blanco, while he served as governor of Morelos.
The differences between the former and Blanco began after the then governor made public his intention that the then Morelos Attorney General renouncing his position.
The confrontation and the accusations between the two officials were exacerbated after in 2022 Carmona said that the Prosecutor’s Office had an investigation against the former governor for alleged links with organized crime.
While in 2023 Blanco went to the FGR to denounce the omission of the Morelense Prosecutor’s Office in the face of organized crimes, while the Figure Intelligence Unit asked the FGR to investigate the former former wife for the crime of money laundering.
The accusations against Carmona did not cease and since the brunette Margarita González Saravia assumed as governor of Morelos in October 2024, the morenista also expressed her intentions to remove Carmona as a state prosecutor.
