The Masterworks Broadway label today promotes in digital format the soundtrack of the musical Back to the Future, based on the story of the 1985 blockbuster film of the same name directed
The work, in addition to the original songs from the film, includes new songs by multi-award winning composers Alan Silvestri and Glen Ballard, and will have a compact disc version starting April 15.
Masterworks Broadway, a subsidiary of the entertainment giant Sony, also published the video clip of the song For the dreamers, part of the aforementioned production and performed by the renowned American actor and singer Roger Bart.
Regarding the release of the album Back to the Future: The Musical, the president of Sony Masterworks, Mark Cavell, assured that he was excited to share with the public “the fantastic music of this great show”.
The work included in the phonogram has been a box office success, with shows well received by specialized critics in London, United Kingdom.
Masterworks Broadway included in the album 25 themes between incidental music and songs, interpreted for the recording by the actors and singers of the work, among them Bart and the British Olly Dobson, who assume the leading roles.
Back to the Future: The Musical is nominated for the prestigious 2022 Laurence Olivier Award (British theatre’s highest award) in seven categories, including Best Actor and Supporting Actor, Soundtrack, and New Orchestrations.
The film Back to the Future is one of the representative films of American science fiction cinema of the mid-1980s, its success in theaters led its producers to give the green light to two other parts.
The franchise was directed entirely by Zemeckis, who kept the multi-award-winning Michael J. Fox as Marty Mcfly and Christopher Lloyd as Dr. Emmett Brown in the leading roles.
