Dajabón – Members of the migration control team of the General Directorate of Migration, the Dominican Army and Navy, detained 437 undocumented immigrants while trying to enter Dominican territory illegally through different points of the Northwest border, including pregnant women and children.
During the interdictions of the last hours in which, together with Migration, the members of the fourth infantry brigade, tenth battalion and the Border Fence participated in the Vaya Onda operation, 344 men, 7 children, 93 women were detained, of which 14 pregnant, in irregular migratory conditions to be in the country.
The arrests were made in the towns and military checkpoints of Santiago de la Cruz, El Puente, Botoncillo, Solitaria, Laurel, Masacre, Sánchez, Copey, Vigía, Matas de Santa Cruz and Don Miguel.
They were also intercepted at Primary Care Clinical and Diagnostic Centers, Ramón Matías Mella Provincial Hospital, Barrio La Fe First Level Center, Barrio Norte First Level Care Center and Barrio la Manisera First Level Center, in the same way we were operating in the Parque Central, Barrio Sur, Barrio el Matadero, Barrio La Fe, Barrio Benito Monción, Cañongo, Carbonera, Vigía, Laurel, Downtown and Municipal Cemetery, where we detained a total of (156) citizens of Haitian origin with Irregular Immigration Status .
All of the detainees were taken to the shelter center in the Beller de Dajabón fortress, where they were purged and repatriated to their place of origin, in accordance with the agreement established between the authorities Enrique García, Director General of Migration, and Major General Julio Florián Pérez. , general commander of the Dominican Army respectively.
