From January to July of this year, 2,448 supervision activities were carried out on the 32 concessions, of which 649 correspond to the 16 concession highways throughout the country, that is, 54%, reported the Supervisory Body for Investment in Infrastructure of Transportation for Public Use (ositran).
The ositran ratified that it verifies every day, through its on-site supervisors, the operability and maintenance of concession highways, which represent 26.53% of the National Road Network.

During the first half of the year, the ositranas part of its supervisory function, applied 16 sanctions and three penalties for more than S/ 6.7 million to concessionaire companies that failed to comply with their obligations derived from the concession contracts.
Of the total, in the road sector, a non-pecuniary sanction (warning) was applied to the company Consorcio Concesión Chancay Acos SA for the improper collection of rates and not having carried out the rate readjustment procedure in a timely manner and in accordance with the provisions of the normativity; In addition, it imposed a corrective measure to restore to those affected the amount unduly collected.
In the case of penalties in road infrastructure, a penalty of S/ 1,875 was applied to Intersur Concesiones SA, for the untimely delivery of the “Quarterly Report on the Environment, Industrial Safety and Occupational Health. Solution of the critical sector between km 231+700 to km 232+800-Ollachea Tunnel”.
“One of the fundamental axes of the organization is the fight against corruption, which is why it has proposed and managed the need for infrastructure concession contracts to include anti-corruption clauses, an initiative that has been welcomed by many companies and consortiums”, specified Ositran.
